There are a couple of ways that settings for views and visualizations can be saved for future use in SEND Explorer.
SEND Explorer automatically locally saves the last settings you were using for a particular view or visualization, and those settings are automatically applied the next time the user accesses that view or visualization using the same computer and web browser. This means that if you filter or sort the SEND Explorer dashboard, your filter/sort options will be retained the next time you go into the system on the same computer/web browser. Click on the Reset or Reset all button on views/visualizations throughout SEND Explorer to return to default settings.
Presets are a way for organizations or individual users to save settings related to a particular view or visualization to be used again for the same or different study or studies or as the starting point for additional changes. Presets can be saved as:
Shared | Shared presets can be viewed and used by any users for a particular organization. Shared presents can only be created, modified or deleted by users with Super User permission level or higher. |
User | User presets can be saved by any user and can only be viewed or used by the user that created them. |
From most views/visualizations in SEND Explorer, presets can be saved by clicking on the Save as Preset button on the top menu or left-hand configuration panel. Type in a name for the Preset and click the checkbox next to Shared preset to make it visible to all users (if permission allow). If the Shared preset checkbox is not select, the Preset will be a User preset and only available to the user that created it.
Presets are specific to domains and views/visualizations. To use a previously created Preset, go to the view or visualization in SEND Explorer that was used to create the Preset and click on the Preset button on the top menu or left-hand configuration panel. Select the name of the Preset you want to recall. The SEND Explorer view/visualization display will be updated based on the settings saved in the Preset selected.
Presets that involve fields or values that are not present based on current data selections, however, may cause unexpected results (e.g., if present filters for DSTERM = FOUND DEAD and new study has no subjects meeting this criterion, the filtered set will be empty). In addition, the test code and units must align for the preset selections to be applied to a different study or studies. To avoid empty results, try naming Presets in a way that will make it clear what tests/tissues are selected or what filtering criteria are applied.
