Archiving and Unarchiving Studies in SEND Explorer Warehouse

Step-by-step instructions for archiving/unarchiving studies in SEND Explorer

Studies with a source system type of SEND 3.0 or SEND 3.1 (XPT format) can be archived in SEND Explorer Warehouse. When a study is archived, only the Trial Summary data remains available in the SEND Explorer dashboard. The group, subject, and findings data is moved out of the active database tables and into archive tables and is unavailable for use in SEND Explorer views and visualizations. Archived studies can also be unarchived, making the study available again for full use in SEND Explorer. To archive or unarchive a study in SEND Explorer, you must have Administrator privileges.

Steps for archiving/unarchiving studies are below:

  • Click on the Admin link in the upper right corner of the SEND Explorer window

  • Click on the Database Tasks button

  • To archive a study:

    • Click on Archive by Study

    • Type the STUDYID associated with the study to archive in the i_studyid text box

    • Click on the Run Task button

    • The archive job will be started and the Load History page will display to show status of the job.

    • Once the job is successfully completed, Load Status will display as “Succeeded”

    • Load Status value in the Dashboard for the study will now display as “Archived” and the study will not be hyperlinked from the SEND Explorer Dashboard and results data for the study will not be available for use in SEND Explorer views or visualizations

  • To archive multiple studies by Last Uploaded Date:

    • Click on Archive by Date

    • Enter the Last Uploaded Date in the i_date text box. Studies with Last Uploaded Date <= to the specified date will be archived.

    • Option: enter STUDYIDs for any studies to exclude from Archiving that have Last Uploaded Dates <= to the specified date

    • Click on the Run Task button

    • The archive job will be started and the Load History page will display to show status of the job

    • Once the job is successfully completed, Load Status will display as “Succeeded”

    • Load Status values in the Dashboard for affected studies will now display as “Archived” and the studies will not be hyperlinked from the SEND Explorer Dashboard and results data for the studies will not be available for use in SEND Explorer views or visualizations

  • To unarchive a study:

    • Click on Unarchive by Study

    • Type the STUDYID associated with the study to unarchive in the i_studyid text box

    • Click on the Run Task button

    • The unarchive job will be started and the Load History page will display to show status of the job

    • Once the job is successfully completed, Load Status will display as “Succeeded”

    • The unarchived study is added to the Load Queue and a full load needs to be run to complete the unarchive process.

    • To run a load, click on the Data Steward and select Load Schedule

    • Under On Demand Load, click on the Start Load button with All Workflows selected in the pulldown menu

    • After the load completes, the study will be hyperlinked from the SEND Explorer Dashboard and results data for the study will be available for use in SEND Explorer views or visualizations
